Shayde flew through the air, looking for another wolf. He sighed. No luck. He flew back down to the den sites, his paws tenderly touching the ground. His green and white body shimmered in the cold sunlight. The snow gently dropping upon ihs back, making it glisten with water. He shook out his body. He looked up at the sky. No other wolf in sight. He sighed and lay down in the snow. This year was going to be like all the others. No pack members, no company, no nothing.

Salina walked through a snow covered field, her black wings tired from flying. Her old pack had driven her out just because she was the sister of a traitor. Now her paw steps were getting heavier from exhaustion. She came up over a hill and noticed another wolf, laying and was facing her. She kept her pace the same, her paws thumping on the snow covered ground. She kept her head low as she walked up to the other wolf, who almost blended into the snow except for his green markings. She sat down heavily, looking at the other wolf, wondering what he was going to do.

Shayde lifted his head curiously. He sniffed the air and noticed this other wolf was a female. He tilted his head. "What happened?" he asked. "You look depressed..."

Salina laid down and rested her chin on her paws. "I don't really want to talk about it. Its been bouncing around in my head all day." Salina said in her sweet voice. She hoped this didn't sound too mean or stand off-ish, but it was the truth. She knew that if she talked about it she would probably have an emotional break down. Her yellow eyes gazed off to the side, watching one snowflake after another fall to the ground.

Shayde understood her pain and looed up in the sky. He let a snowflake fall upon his muzzle. He arose and shook off flakes of snow that hadn't melted yet.

Salina snorted as she breathed in a snowflake. "Stupid snow..." she said quietly, barely loud enough to hear.

Shayde's ears twitched as he heard Salina mumbled something. He opened his mouth to ask, but resisted. Instead he let a wind blow the snow in a different direction.

There was an awkward silence as neither wolf spoke. Salina lifted her head with her ears forward and looked around. "Are you the only one here?" she asked, her yellow eyes finally resting on the other wolf.

Shayde nodded. "The only one," he sighed depressingly. "And i always have been, since all the other members were..." His words drifted off into silence once more.

Salina looked alarmed as she thought of what had maybe happened to them. She thought about asking him to go on, but if he couldn't even say it out loud, her asking would be rude. She'd ask him later, maybe. She shook her head to get rid of the crisp white snow off her midnight black head, which would fill up with snow soon anyway. The silence covered them again, making Salina feel awkward.

Shayde shook his head from a daze. The silence made him feel uncomfertable, so he shifted his paws as a distraction.

Salina moved her tail back and forth a little, making a fan in the snow. "I'm Salina. What's your name?" she asked suddenly.

"Shayde...beautiful name." Salina replied, standing up fully. She stretched out a little bit and looked around. Her ears perked up when she noticed a rabbit near a small bush. She then noticed how hungry she was. "Uhh, can you excuse me for a moment?" she said, looking at Shayde then turning towards the rabbit, which still hadn't noticed them yet. She lowered herself a little bit and lowered her ears, stalking closer and closer to the rabbit, which had now lifted its ears. She froze as it chewed on the little leaf it was eating. The rabbit then hopped a little bit, turning away from her. Salina was suprised at how stupid rabbits were, especially now since Salina totally stuck out in the white wonderland around her. She took a few more steps forward, then, using her wings, pounced on the rabbit, killing it immediatly. She picked it up and carried it over to Shayde and dropped it, not wanting to be rude. It was barely enough for the both of them, but she definately wanted to keep Shade on her side.
